Shattered dreams.
You hope and believe for something but then it never happens.
With every closed door the human part of you begs you to stop dreaming and instead invest in something that will not cost you anything…something you can see...something that doesn’t require faith.
You feel the cloud of scoffers who never believed in your dream. When they hear the door slam shut they shake their heads wondering if you will ever learn. Its unbearable so you resolve to suffocate this dream putting it to death forever removing its power to hurt you again. For a short time the disappointment of never seeing your dream come true becomes easier to swallow than repeatedly exposing your frail heart to more closed doors.
You cry out from the depths of your soul.
You don’t use fancy words.
It’s not a pretty prayer.
Oh God. Jesus. Jesus. Please help me. Jesus do you hear me?
Completely alone, you empty yourself. Desperate, humbled, surrendered, and broken you wait for God’s grace to revive your soul. You realize you never asked for this dream. It was given to you in a divine way and the closed doors are actually blessings in disguise. Your dream is not shattered.
You don't understand, but there, in the fullness of your weaknesses, God’s strength shines forth. The Author of your dream lifts you up.
At first glance the world is confident you have come to your senses and have risen to finally murder the dream that continually mocks you.
But they are wrong.
You baffle them as you rise because you rise with faith.
Its utter foolishness to the world but you still believe.
You still believe and you are closer to God's heart than ever before.
